Programs
Community Connections
This program supports Fuse’s mission of engagement and connection with the communities in which we work. Activities under this program connect artists, audiences, and participants through community dialogues, learning opportunities, and outreach activities associated with our projects. Events under this program include Cabaret Nights, Peer Panels, book talks, community workshops, conversation groups, and talk-backs.
Connect and Play
This program supports Fuse’s productions for youth and families. This includes local tours of bilingual productions; original and published plays that amplify diverse stories and characters for families and youth. Productions include: Tomás and the Library Lady, Cinderella Eats Rices and Beans, and What We Remember.
Ignite Artists
This program fosters artistic collaborations and supports the development of new plays at Fuse. Fuse develops new works in several ways: we support artists from within Fuse as they write and develop new projects, support playwrights from outside of Fuse by producing their original unpublished works, and collaborate with artistic partners to create new works. Ignite Artists provides artists with supportive and unique opportunities to connect with one another and learn from each other. Events under this program include Creative Coffee Hours, Artist Circles, Pitch Nights, and Peer Panels featuring artists.
Theatre for Trees (Teatro para Árboles)
This program focuses on environmental issues and works with environmental partners, primarily Biological Reserve Cerro Hermoso in Oakland, CA. Currently, this program is in development with elements of community-based workshops and productions that will be produced in outdoor venues. We are exploring partnerships/funding in three areas: Oakland/San Leandro, SF Peninsula, and Oaxaca Mexico. This is Fuse’s newest program, and it is at the beginning stages of development.
Land Acknowledgement
We want to acknowledge that we are all on occupied traditional territories. Fuse Theatre is centered on the unceded traditional lands of the Ramaytush Ohlone People in the San Francisco Bay Area.
